WITH THE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE INTO NATURE'S HAPPINESS

The Rügensche Bäderbahn, also affectionately known as the "Rasender Roland", is the steam-powered narrow-gauge railway on Rügen that connects the individual seaside resorts on the island. It drives at a maximum speed of 30 km/h and allows a wonderful view of Rügen's landscapes. With the raging Roland you can reach your destination in a relaxed manner and can drive from Putbus via Binz, Sellin and Baabe to Göhren.

BY BIKE ON RÃœGEN'S TRAILS

Bicycle rental is very important here. Because the island has many highlights in store with designated cycle routes along a diverse landscape. Explore the Zickersche Berge on a neighboring peninsula, drive to the southernmost tip of the island to Thiessow or to Sassnitz in the north for a harbor walk with a delicious fish sandwich to finish.

On request, the service staff will give you further tips for further cycling tours.

THE PATH OF THE TREE TOPS

At the top of the treetops of the beeches you can hike on the treetop path and marvel at Rügen from above. The path leads through a mixed beech forest to the lookout tower, which gives you a wonderful view and promises an experience for the whole family.

This path is open to its visitors all year round. The Baumwipfelpfad employees also offer a variety of events for young and old visitors.

CLASSIC FOUR-WHEELS

In the vintage car museum in Prora, guests can marvel not only at classic vintage cars and Trabants, but also at fire brigades and railways. In addition, the creators of the museum show the engineering art that is in the cars as well as the historical and political entanglements around the time of the vintage cars.

The exhibits can be viewed in a 10,000 m² hall and in the adjoining outdoor area.

ON TO THE JAGDSCHLOSS

The Granitz hunting lodge is one of the most popular sights on Rügen and has something very special in store for its visitors: a 38 meter high main tower with a viewing platform. From up here, guests have a 360° view of the island of Rügen and the Baltic Sea. You have to climb 154 steps to do this, but according to the annual assessments, the goal is definitely worth it.

BATHING FUN
FOR ALL

Whether in bad weather or for relaxing moments. The bathing and adventure world AHOI, with its many pools and a local sauna area, has great hours in store for young and old. Courses offered there also offer variety and good things for your own health.

The nice thing: The pool is in the immediate vicinity of the Park Hotel Sellin.

EXPERIENCE FOR FREE: ADVENTURE VILLAGE

The Karls Erlebnis-Dorf amusement park in Zirkow has a lot more to offer in addition to its exciting attractions: delicious food, free-roaming sheep, the strawberry fountain and a visit to the candy factory are just a few of them. As a family, you can let off steam on the potato slide and the strawberry caterpillar track and, at the end of a successful day, take a photo at the Donnerbalken photo point.

UNDERWATER IN THE OZEANEUM

The OZEANEUM in Stralsund is one of Europe's largest maritime museum and is also a must for holidaymakers from Rügen. Located on the waterfront of the historic old town, a visit is recommended as a day trip. In the Ozeaneum there is not only the underwater world to admire, but also penguins. In Stralsund, on the other hand, historic buildings and fishing boats invite you.

Other highlights in Stralsund: the sailing ship, the Gorch Fock, historic churches and market places as well as monastery gardens that invite you to linger.
